ABOUT US
Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a qualified and motivated person capable of handling everyday tasks on helping a Procurement and Logistics Officer to make procurement, supervise drivers, keep inventory and otherwise support logistic operations.  
 
 DRC-DDG is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. From the Slovyansk Sub-Office, DRC-DDG carries out a variety of activities to support conflict affected and internally displaced people in Northern Donetsk oblast and Luhansk oblast including restoration of shelter, livelihoods and business grants, legal assistance, protection and psycho-social support and humanitarian mine action.  
 
ABOUT JOB
Procurement and Logistics Assistant will be responsible for procurement process under supervision of Procurement and Logistics Manager and Head of Office. He will ensure the accuracy of the procedure in compliance with DRC/DDG Ukraine Operational Handbook, DRC Code of Conduct and Ukrainian legislation.S/he is supposed to effectively handle minor procurement operations for office needs as well as respond to Purchase Orders submitted by the programmes teams based in Slovyansk and Severodonetsk. The P&L Assistant will be involved in the planning and arranging the  vehicles use  by the respective teams.   
 
Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
  • Conduct routine procurement of locally procured items, especially routine items under single quote such as office supplies 
  • Participate in handling big procurement procedures according to the assignments 
  • Keep procurement records and tracker 
  • Communicate with suppliers and contractors regarding the process status and document flow 
  • Keep inventory  records of  DRC/DDG offices assets  
  • Supervise Slovyansk and Sevrodonetsk drivers and monitor staff movement on organizational cars
  • Help streamline and monitor staff movements, and maintain movement board (online sheet), working in close cooperation with P&L Officer and Safety Officer  
  • Assisting drivers in reimbursement of fuel expenditures (checking log. sheets, fuel consumption calculations, etc.) 
  • Work with P&L Officer and Head of Office in the identification of office space, staff apartments and guest houses as needed 
  • Ensure that properties are well maintained (including organizing maintenance, repairs and cleaning as needed)  
  • Keep procurement operations records and procurement process tracker

Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required  
  • University degree in logistics, transportation management, organizational management or related field
  • Intermediate or Advanced English (speaking/reading/writing) sufficient to read, write and keep records on operations in English
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills 
  • Ability to learn and apply obtained knowledge on practice 
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions 
Desirable 
  • Experience in making big scale procurement, handling tenders 
  • Knowledge of logistical operations (transportation, warehousing, assets keeping)  
 
WE OFFER
Contract length: 2 months with possible extension 
Level: D3 
Start date: 01 November 2017
