We are pleased to announce that the ILO is offering a new course called «Let’s create jobs: A course on how to help youth create viable businesses». This is a free online training programme on helping youth or other target groups to create viable enterprises. The course aims to enable organizations to apply and adapt a successful, comprehensive approach to creating viable youth-led enterprises called the Youth to Youth (Y2Y) approach (pdf). We invite you to apply and/or spread the word to other organizations in your network that might be interested.

Over the past 9 years the ILO has been working with young people to co-develop the Y2Y approach. We have been testing, tweaking, and improving the approach and helped hundreds of youth set up businesses in innovative and niche markets in Togo, Morocco, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire and Liberia. We are now confident that our comprehensive approach can help young people to create viable businesses. Through this course (pdf) and the toolkit we hope to enable more organizations to use our approach, adapt it and consequently support more young people create profitable businesses!

This course has limited places available, so we are selecting participants on a competitive basis. We will pick applicants based on their capacity and motivation to implement a challenge fund using the principles and tools provided in the training.
