The Translator/ Interpreter will be responsible for English-Ukrainian-English written translation of the materials and consecutive oral English-Ukrainian-English interpretation of the meetings and events on, primarily, civic education topics.

IFES is seeking Freelance Translator/Interpreter for Civic Education project

Period of performance: August 17, 2017 - August 16, 2018

The Translator/ Interpreter will be responsible for English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English written translation of the materials and consecutive oral English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English interpretation of the meetings and events on, primarily, civic education topics.

SCOPE OF WORK:

• Performing, editing and proofreading written English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English translation of materials on civic education topic;
• Developing and managing thesaurus of the terminology used for the translated materials;
• Performing consecutive oral English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English interpretation on civic education topic at the meetings and events.

SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:

• The ability to translate a high number of pages per day (not less than 6);
• The ability to remain organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines;
• The ability to complete tasks within deadlines.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or higher Degree in relevant field preferred;
• Excellent English and Ukrainian language translating skills required;
• Excellent English and Ukrainian language interpreting skills required;
• Demonstrated experience in translation in the field of democracy & governance or elections is strongly preferred;
• Prior experience in translating materials on civic education topic preferred.

Prior experience in consecutive oral interpretation on civic education topic preferred.
