Товариство Червоного Хреста України шукає risk communication and community engagement officer.

The National Committee of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, with support of the Danish Red Cross, announces a competition to recruit a Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) officer to respond to COVID-19 outbreak.

Requirements:

  • Higher Education in communications, social sciences, public relations or related fields.
  • knowledge of current COVID-19 emergency response measures by Government and Authorities.
  • Good written and spoken skills in the language of the humanitarian operation.
  • Experience in leading community engagement approaches an asset.
  • Experience in planning targeted and appropriate behaviour change approaches an asset.
  • Experience in a Civil Society Organization is an asset.
  • Experience in development/adaptation of guidance documentation, SoPs and /or other regulatory tools.
  • Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, strong knowledge in English (verbal and written).
  • A high level of analytical and diplomacy skills as well as strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong networking skills and relate well with colleagues and partners.
  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment within given deadlines and under high pressure.
  • High level of motivation for self-development and high rate of self-education.

Main duties:

  • Supports URCS and Red Cross partners to develop a strategy to mainstream risk communication and community engagement effectively into covid19 preparedness and response plans.
  • Work in close cooperation with Danish Red Cross to implement the COVID-19 emergency project.
  • Development and implementation of RCCE plan.
  • Development/adaptation activation and regular updated guidance and SOPs on RCCE.
  • Leads and coordinate the setting up/strengthening of appropriate feedback systems in line with established feedback standards in branches.
  • Monitor RCCE activities by identifying processes that delay information release and create confusion among affected populations.
  • Monitor and proactively counter false rumours and misinformation; and address fears and concerns in coordination with others departments.
  • Ensures feedback, community perceptions and insights are regularly analysed and shared with key operation teams and decision makers to inform action.
  • Monitor mass and social media, hotlines, beneficiaries’ feedback and community concerns and continually apply feedback into adapted RCCE strategy.
  • Work with operation teams to ensure the most vulnerable groups have equal access to communication channels and feedback mechanisms and participate in decision making processes.
  • Contribute to coordination efforts at national level with stakeholders involved in Risk Communication and Community engagement, and community health related preparedness.
  • Identifies partnership opportunities with key local and international partners.

Conditions:

  • full-time;
  • scheduled business trips within Ukraine.

Permanent place of work: Kyiv, duration 5 months (potential extension).
