Zhytomyr Regional Council Antituberculosis Dispensary is looking for Specialized Technician.

The Zhytomyr Regional Council Antituberculosis Dispensary is seeking outstanding candidates to fill a newly formed position supporting our institution’s inventory of sophisticated, modern diagnostic and laboratory equipment. Working in cooperation with our international partners, Médecines Sans Frontières (MSF), the Specialized Technician‘s technical ability, adaptability, drive, organization and team focus will ensure the current and future performance of a broad range of technology and equipment that is essential to our work. This position represents a unique opportunity to work with some of our region’s leading healthcare providers and their international partners and advisors in an innovate, high-profile project to improve the health of patients with tuberculosis in our region.

Main duties:

• Perform installation, maintenance, repair and management of complex equipment to the highest level of quality under the guidance of our international partners. Sustain the safe and effective performance of hospital equipment by regular monitoring, testing, maintenance and record keeping. These functions will draw on the skills of many disciplines including electrician, mechanic, and biomedical technician.

• Manage the stock of consumable items, and spare parts necessary to avoid service interruptions.

• Implement measures to ensure safety and proper infection control in the facility.

• Demonstrate and encourage perfect compliance with safety requirements and medical instructions for implementing infection control.

• Immediately inform hospital and MSF line managers of risks of, or actual incidents of, accident, damage, loss, theft, break-in or trespass.

• Ensure that all record keeping related to logistical maintenance is complete, accurate and available for review.

• Prepare needed reports before and after any repair or maintenance events.

• Work closely with other specialized technicians, workers in affiliated institutions, outside suppliers and technical support technicians including, at times, managing small teams of workers.

Requirements:

Education:

• Desirable: college diploma or education in engineering, physical sciences or technology trades.

Experience:

• Essential 2+ years of previous work experience in hands-on installation, maintenance, repair and management of a broad range of bio-medical and non-medical equipment.

• Desirable work experience in MSF or other humanitarian non-profit organizations.

Languages:

• Essential: Good command of written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English.

• Competence with common software programs for communication (word processing, image capture, email) and information management and analysis (spreadsheets, databases); experience operating non-standardized user interfaces of complex equipment.

• Skilled hands capable of performing many types of tasks.

Location: 64 Berdychivska St., Huiva, Zhytomyr region.

Type of agreement: Civil law agreements (3 months extendable with Labor Agreement).
