Call for Applications: Mentor Pool

The Prague Civil Society Centre is looking for experienced practitioners in a variety of fields to provide training, mentorship and consultancy services to grassroots organisations, activists and civic initiatives in one or more capacity building areas. The mentors will form a mentorship pool, which will function as an expert roster for the Centre’s programmes.

The capacity building areas include:

● Advocacy and campaigning

SMM and targeting

● Strategic communications

PR and media relations

● Product management

● Data science

● Data visualisation

Mentors selected for the pool will be asked to contribute to the Centre’s capacity-building programmes by providing either training, mentoring, or consulting services. They may also be asked to lead programmes they have develop themselves under the auspices of the Centre’s capacity-building programmes.

Members of the mentor pool are expected to:

● Attend onboarding training about the Centre and its mission;

● Provide recommendations on the Centre’s programme curricula;

● Help with the selection of applicants to the Centre’s programmes and work with them within them in the course of the programme;

● Teach courses on Marketing, Communications, Product Management, Project Management, etc.


Operation:

The mentor pool will be established and will function under the supervision of the Centre’s Programme Officers. The Programme Officers will contact members of the mentor pool as needed for cooperation on specific programmes. Mentors are expected to be pro-active in offering feedback and insights to improve the Centre’s programmes.


Expected expertise and selection criteria:

● Expertise in one (or more) of the selected capacity building areas;

● Proven record of conducting capacity-building activities in selected areas;

● Previous mentorship/coaching experience will be considered an advantage;

● Knowledge of civil society environment in the region of Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia;

● Excellent communication and collaboration skills;

● Openness and eagerness to learn;

● Proficiency in Russian and English (other regional languages a plus);

Application process:

Interested candidates should fill in the application form by February 13, 2022. In the application form candidates will also be asked to submit:

• A CV

• A program proposal. The proposal should identify a concrete problem, propose a solution and describe the target audience that will benefit (Why, What, When and How. 500 words max).

• Link to either a short video in which you explain your motivation or your LinkedIn profile.

• (Optional) References from NGOs with which the applicants trained, mentored or cooperated.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the selection process by February 20, 2022.
